Randstad is excited to partner with a key State Government Department to find an exceptional AO3 Project Support Officer. This role is designed for someone who thrives on organisation and providing reliable support to technical teams and engineers. As the Project Support Officer, you will be the essential backbone of the Corridor Management (CM) team, focusing on:

  • Provide high-level administrative and coordination support to engineers and technical staff across third-party access and development assessment programs.
  • Manage the quality assurance of application documentation via online platforms, ensuring all submissions from utility providers meet departmental standards.
  • Assist Project Managers in meeting critical legislative and internal deadlines through superior time management and organisational skills.
  • Act as a central point of contact to facilitate effective communication between the CM team and external stakeholders, including utility providers and developers.
  • Maintain technical email mailboxes, ensuring all incoming actions are triaged and assigned to relevant personnel promptly.
  • Prepare and update internal process documentation and actively identify opportunities for workflow improvements.
  • Utilise and interpret departmental mapping systems and construction industry documents to support technical decision-making.
  • Ensure all operational practices comply with departmental legislation (including WH&S), policies, and governance obligations.
  • Maintain accurate records and registers in alignment with Government record-keeping policies and departmental systems.

Skills to Bring to the Table (Desirable Requirements)

We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused candidate who can hit the ground running, ideally bringing:

  • 1–2+ years of experience in a project support or administrative role, ideally within the civil infrastructure or government sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret construction-related documentation and navigate spatial/mapping software.
  • A high level of initiative and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with a proven ability to engage professionally with utility providers and technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Queensland Government systems (such as SAP or 3PCM) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A sharp eye for detail, specifically regarding quality assurance and document control.
  • Experience working within a legislative or highly regulated framework.
